What Milan students have in common

Online, not in person

All tutoring is online via Zoom or Google Meet with a shared whiteboard. That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation: it makes scheduling around a demanding DP timetable far easier, and session notes are shared afterwards.

Three languages

Lessons run in English, Italian or Croatian. In Milan the English–Italian combination matters most: many students reason more naturally in Italian while being examined in English.

The Bocconi thread

Milan schools send a steady stream of applicants to Bocconi, whose admissions test is 24 maths questions out of 50 on a syllabus overlapping heavily with Analysis & Approaches. For students on that path the two projects should be planned together.

How the school routes differ

IGCSE schools

Strong procedural fluency arriving into the Diploma; the challenge is the shift from producing answers to justifying them.

IB continuum schools

Strong investigation and communication skills, which pay off in the Internal Assessment; the usual gap is algebraic speed.

American-curriculum schools

Comfortable with computation, less exposed to formal proof, and more likely to be sitting the SAT alongside the Diploma.

Bilingual and Italian schools

Mathematically strong, examined in a second language; command terms and extended-response phrasing are where marks go.
