FAQ

Questions families always ask.

Everything you need to know before booking — from how sessions work to what results to expect.

Before your first session.

Is there a free trial or intro session?
+
Yes — every new student gets a free 20-minute introductory call. This is a no-pressure conversation to understand the student's situation, see if we're a good fit, and outline what a plan would look like. No commitment required.
What platform do you use for online lessons?
+
Lessons are conducted via Zoom or Google Meet — whichever the student prefers. I use a shared digital whiteboard for working through problems in real time, and all session notes are shared afterwards.
What subjects can you tutor?
+
I tutor IB Mathematics AA and AI (at both SL and HL), IB Physics (SL and HL), SAT Math, Bocconi university admissions test preparation, and first-year university-level mathematics. If you're unsure whether your subject is covered, just ask — I'm happy to discuss it in the intro call.
How do I get started?
+
Simply fill in the contact form on the Contact page, send an email to alexcetojevic12@gmail.com, or message via WhatsApp. I'll reply within 24 hours to arrange a free 20-minute intro call where we can discuss the student's needs and next steps.

How the lessons work.

How often should we meet for best results?
+
Once a week is the most effective rhythm for most students — it's frequent enough to build momentum without overwhelming them. During exam season, twice-weekly sessions are available. We'll agree on the right schedule during the intro call.
What if we need to reschedule a session?
+
Life happens. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule at no cost. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged. I'll always do my best to find a replacement slot in the same week.
How long are the sessions?
+
Standard sessions are 60 minutes. For students who need more intensive support — particularly during exam revision periods — 90-minute sessions can be arranged. The length is always agreed in advance and reflected in the pricing.
Do you offer support between sessions?
+
Students on the monthly package have access to WhatsApp support between sessions for short, targeted questions — a clarification on a concept or a quick check on whether their approach to a problem is correct. This isn't unlimited homework help, but it means students don't get stuck between lessons.

What to expect.

Do you follow the current IB syllabus?
+
Yes. I stay up to date with the current IB Mathematics syllabus for both Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Applications & Interpretation (AI), at both SL and HL. Lessons are always aligned with what the student is currently studying in school.
Can you help with the IB Internal Assessment?
+
Yes. I can support students with their Mathematics or Physics IA — from initial topic selection and framing a strong research question, through to checking the mathematical content and ensuring the exploration meets the IB criteria. IA support is typically done as part of regular sessions or as dedicated standalone sessions.
How do you track student progress?
+
I keep structured notes on each student — what's been covered, where gaps remain, and what the next priorities are. For students on the monthly package, parents receive a brief written update each month. Progress is also tracked through regular exam-style practice and comparison against IB grade boundaries.
Can lessons be conducted in Croatian or Italian?
+
Absolutely. I'm fluent in English, Croatian and Italian. For students who are more comfortable working through problems in their first language, we can conduct the entire lesson in Croatian or Italian — whichever helps them learn best.
What if my child isn't improving?
+
If a student isn't progressing as expected, I take that seriously and adjust the approach — whether that means slowing down on a topic, changing how we explain something, or refocusing the plan entirely. I'd rather have an honest conversation about what's working than continue with something that isn't. Parents are always kept informed.
What kind of results do students typically see?
+
On average, students who work consistently with me improve by around 2 IB grade points over the course of a year. SAT students have seen score increases of 80–150 points on the Math section. Results depend on the student's starting point, how consistently they engage between sessions, and how much time they have before their exams — which is why I'm honest about expectations from the very first call.

Let's talk about your situation.

The free intro call is the best place to get direct answers. No commitment — just an honest conversation about whether this is the right fit.
