Online IB tutor, Maths and Physics.

I’m Alex. I finished the IB Diploma with 43/45, including 7s in Maths AA HL and Physics HL, then did a maths degree at the University of Trieste. Now I teach IB Maths and Physics online, one to one, in English, Italian or Croatian.

Students I’ve tutored come from 9 schools in Italy and the Netherlands, and from Bocconi University.

What I teach

IB Maths
AA and AI, SL and HL, taught the way the papers are marked. IB Maths tutoring in detail.
IB Physics
SL and HL, concept first, with the maths underneath done properly. IB Physics tutoring in detail.
The IA
Maths explorations and Physics investigations, from choosing a topic to reading drafts against the criteria. The work stays yours: I give feedback and never write or edit it.
Beyond the IB
SAT Math for US applications, the Bocconi admissions test for students applying in Italy, and first-year university maths.

How online lessons work

The lesson
We work through the topic together on a shared whiteboard, so you see every step as it’s written. Every session ends with a clear list of what to practise next.
The worksheet
You get a custom problem set aimed at what we just covered, to work through on your own while it’s fresh.
The feedback
I review every answer. Misconceptions get corrected before the next session and gaps get flagged early, so nothing quietly piles up.
Practical detail
60-minute sessions as standard, 90 minutes in revision periods. Zoom or Google Meet, scheduled around your school timetable and time zone. Session notes are shared after every lesson.

Common questions

Does online IB tutoring work as well as in person?

For maths and physics it does, in my experience. We work on a shared whiteboard, so you see every line as it’s written, and you keep the session notes to go back through before a test.
Which IB subjects do you teach?

IB Maths (AA and AI, SL and HL) and IB Physics (SL and HL), with IA support in both. Outside the IB I teach SAT Math, Bocconi test prep and first-year university maths.
Do you only work with students in Milan?

Lessons are online, so students join from anywhere. Mine come from schools in Milan, Como, Bergamo and Maastricht, and we schedule around your time zone.
What language are lessons in?

English, Italian or Croatian. Your exam will most likely be in English, so we keep the maths and physics vocabulary in English and switch language for explanations when that helps.
